Cottage Cheese Egg Bites: Breakfast Like an Adult, Not Like It’s 1997

Cottage Cheese Egg Bites
Pure 1982 family fun

Here in 2026, we’ve apparently decided that cottage cheese belongs in everything. And honestly? I’m not mad about it. Mainly because, as 2026 dawned, I became obsessed with cottage cheese egg bites

But let’s not pretend we haven’t been here before.

Remember the 1990s, when every dinner involved low-fat sour cream, low-fat cheese, and meat so lean it practically evaporated? This was also the golden age of Olestra — the miracle fat substitute that gave us the legendary low-fat potato chip cleanse.

This is how adults worked out in the 80’s

Everyone remembers the slogan we should have used:
“Snack Yourself Thin. Run immediately to the nearest toilet.”

Snack like it’s 1997. Regret like it’s 3 a.m.

And I’m not going to lie, there was a lot to regret way back in 1996.

High-waisted jeans. Questionable bangs. Poop Chips. (Totally different from Pop Chips) In 1996, apparently, fiber was for quitters.

Every era has its own diet delusions. I still remember how grumpy my parents were through most of the ’90s while doing the Cabbage Soup Diet. I love cabbage, but not enough to drink hot cabbage water for six straight months and pretend I’m thriving.

My 1980s childhood was fueled almost entirely by SlimFast. Those boxes of SlimFast meals lived in our house well into the new millennium. We didn’t finally get rid of them until 2001 — and by “get rid of,” I mean we plied my dad with wine coolers until he passed out on the couch and quietly hauled that biohazard to the dump.

I’m too young to fully remember the 1970s grapefruit diet, but honestly? That one doesn’t sound so bad. I love grapefruit. Sure, the acidity might melt your teeth, which could explain why none of our older relatives smiled in photos. That—or my dad was still mourning the Great SlimFast Heist of 2001.

And obviously, the 1960s diet was just cigarettes.

High-Protein Egg Bites with Cottage Cheese: Unlike the 90s fad diets, These Won’t Betray You

So yes, food trends come and go. But unlike cabbage water and digestive regret, adding cottage cheese to high-protein egg bites actually makes sense. High protein, creamy texture, zero gastrointestinal crimes. Progress. At least that is what RFK JR tells me. Cottage Cheese Egg Bites are the new staple you need in your breakfast bingo.

High-Protein Egg Bites That Won’t Betray You

I know that 2026 just dawned but I have become obsessed with high-protein egg cups. In 2025, my food obsession was Carl’s Jr protein burgers, pumpkin seeds, beet salad and Brazil nuts. Lord knows how I gained so much weight when I was consuming such a healthy diet but here we are in early 2026 and on a good day, I can zip up my snow pants. Here in 2026, I need to make some changes and these Cottage Cheese Egg Bites are one of them.
