Its nice to be home, and not living in a fifth wheel trailer without flushing toilet. Yes, this was my only complaint about being “Trailer Trash” Now I’m sitting on my porch covered in two sweaty long haired cats who missed me THISMUCH, listening to the sounds of my neighbors coming down off of meth and screaming obscenity’s at each other. Ahh, its nice to be home!
I moved back into my house just in time for Fourth of July weekend and oh what a weekend it was! My cell phone bleeps out Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the USA all 365 days a year, and for three glorious days no one gave me a dirty look for being patriotic. Gotta love Americans, there are about three hot humid days in July when Americans are just to fucking sweaty to care about us Patriotic ones and our “morals”
I started my fourth of July celebration a few days earlier in Las Vegas with two of my favorite girls. We had a lovely time at the pool, the buffet and the clubs.
Thursday evening we even got in free to Haze Nightclub to see British singer Estelle play.
“Get out of our Vegas!” |
Unfortunately Dawn and I had to leave early before Estelle performed at 2 A.M. as we both came down with Brazilian Fever.
The richest 25 year old in Mexico “Emilio!” was also having his birthday party at Haze that night, so it was really interesting. Mimi and I couldn’t help think to ourselves,
“Um, instead of blowing half a mil on a birthday party in Vegas, maybe you should spend that money fixing your desolate country?” But who am I to argue with free Grey Hound shots?
The party did not stop after we returned to Southern California. We had to say goodbye to Dawn in Las Vegas. She lives in North Carolina, and boo we won’t see her again until next summer. Mimi was out visiting us from Japan for a week so a week of ruckus and good times was to come.
We spent fourth of July weekend in her parents pool and jacuzzi with a herd of lab’s and other miscellaneous dogs running around and into the pool. Good times.
On Monday, the fourth, I got up early to move all my stuff back into my house. Around noon all our friends showed up and we off roaded it to the creek in Cedar Glen. Many beers, broken toes and much fun was had here. We floated in tubes and enjoyed a crazy summer thunderstorm. Yes it hailed on us while we tried to swim, it was awesome. Then I triped on wet slippery rocks, and for the second time in three days I think I might have broken toes. On the other foot this time. Yea for big fat purple toes.
Pouring rain, and hail at the creek |
Back to my house to BBQ some turkey burgers and Italian sausage then we were off to Big Bear to watch the fireworks on the Fawnskin side of the lake. Then it started to rain. Really? Again with the rain? About 9 P.M. people were leaving left and right and we didn’t want to get stuck in the long line of cars headed back down the mountain so we gave up, thinking with the chance of lightning the fireworks would be cancelled for sure. We had driven half way back to my casa in Running Springs when we could see the fireworks starting in the distance. Luckily we found a turn out with an awesome view of the Big Bear Valley. We might have been five miles away, but it was a spectacular view.
