Verizon: a Useless Waste of My Money

Working nights means I see a lot of crazy shit.
Like the customer who threatened my life a few nights ago ( he had just got out of jail! You would think Mr Crazy Pants would not want to go back there right away!)
I live in a rural mountain community thirty minutes from where I work and my night time commute is usually pretty awesome. There is no traffic and I have to try my best not to drive my Subaru like a Subaru (go up the mountain at eighty miles an hour) Driving home at night is pretty awesome as you see a ton of wild life like deer, bobcats and coyotes.
Sometimes you see the worst things though. A few years ago I was driving home on a snowy night and came across a Jeep that had just rolled minutes before. Luckily every one was all right and I located my cell phone and called highway patrol to tell them about the situation on this local highway.
Tonight I was driving home and I was just lost in my own thoughts thinking about how blessed I am with my life and how extremely lucky I am to live in such a gorgeous place that most people pay to vacation at.
In just an instance all those thoughts left my head. It was near midnight and headlights were coming down the lonely mountain road towards me. The car veered into the dirt shoulder and the side of the mountain with a giant thud and shriek of wood, medal and glass breaking. It was so loud I could hear it over the sound of Shelby Lynne on my cars stereo system. The car began to fish tail right at me and I was praying for sure at that moment as it did not hit me. I don’t know how on earth it did not hit me.
I was on a curving mountain road and slowed to a crawl trying to punch 911 into my cell phone. As I frantically tried to put my hazards on, warning other drivers coming down I was frantically redialing 911 something like fifteen times. I finally found a turn out to turn around in and slowly drove the road back, expecting to see some one baldy hurt and willing to help out this late at night.
I made it back to the spot where the car hit the mountain. There was still dust in the air; glass and metal all over the road and no car! I was still dialing 911 and could not get the call to go through still and I had to wonder, did the car go over the side of the mountain?
My cell phone always has service in this spot and I was wondering what the hell is going on with my shitty Verizon phone?
I frantically drove two miles to the gas station at the bottom of the mountain and asked the guy there to call 911 because well my phone is Verizon and apparently doesn’t fucking work at all.
As I drove home after that I was counting my blessings; I could not believe that guy did not hit me.
I had a lot of thoughts in my head, wondering if he was drunk, driving so late at night and hitting the mountain in a spot like that.
I was also so extremely pissed off that in a situation like this, in an emergency I couldn’t even get a call through to 911!
I tried looking up this incident when I got home and this morning; I still cant get a call to go through and now my internet on my phone doesn’t work at all!
Verizon; a big fucking waste of my money!
