My homemade Bacon Wrapped BBQ Glazed Jalapeno Poppers are unbelievable and most people can only eat one or two. Friendships have forged over these spicy BBQ glazed poppers. In the days before we flew to the spice capital of the world, we were on the keto craze, so looking for a sugar-free and BBQ sauce free popper. Aw, hell, let’s just throw the entire mess of Jalapeno popper nonsense into the waffle maker, I thought. And the Jalapeno popper chaffles was born. What the hell is a chaffle, you may be asking yourself. Good question. A month ago I didn’t know either. Then I met the cheesy chafffle and my life changed.
If you do not like your jalapeno poppers super spicy, then deseed the jalapenos before adding to the batter.
Jalapeno Popper Chaffle
3 jalapeños, roasted and chopped
1/2 cup cream cheese
3 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 cup almond meal
Mix all into a delicious dough as the waffle maker is preheating. Mix in the cream cheese last and do not over mix. Pour the batter onto the hot waffle maker and close, until there is no more steam coming out.
