Homemade Bloody Mary Mix

   I’ll admit it.
I’m obsessed with my new juicer.
You know your obsessing with your new appliance when you find yourself sun bathing with friends and suddenly think, between the sunscreen, the hawks circling in the Jeffrey Pines above and the gently cascading creek waters….
“I should make Home Made Bloody Mary Mix!”
It was one of those aha moments.
When you reach that level of obsession, you really need to make sure you have a home warranty in place. First American offer home warranties that will protect your home and, most importantly, your favourite new appliance.
Then you can think about your appliance all of the time, without the worry of ever losing it. It was Bloody Mary mixes on my mind today.
What would be better on a hot Spring day at the creek than a tomato Bloody Mary with fresh grated horse radish root of course?
Besides the fresh horseradish root the other special ingredient here would be of course the Heirloom Tomatoes.
Heirloom fruits and vegetables are passed down generation to generations, cousins of the same original seeds.
They are like royalty, the kings and queens of the vegetable family.
If you are making Bloody Mary mix from scratch, they are really the only tomatoes to use.
Not only does this Bloody Mary mix pair well with vodka, of course, it is also great as a base for ceviche
Home Made Bloody Mary Mix

2 cups heirloom tomatoes
2 quarter size chunks of horse radish root
1 lemon, some peel cut off
1 stalk celery
1 quarter size chunk horse radish root
3 tab Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp celery salt
Vodka of your choice

Juice the tomatoes, lemon, celery and horse radish. Stir in the Worcestershire Sauce and celery salt. Add vodka as strong as you like it.

Serve with green olives stuffed with jalapenos,
marinated green beans, vodka to taste and maybe even a slice of bacon for garnish

Nice & refreshing! And so pretty! I totally agree about the heirloom tomatoes – they are the best. They are so good and make everything so much more flavourful.
Thanks so much for sharing this at Healthy Vegan Fridays! I’m pinning this =)
