“Sandwich!!! Sandwich!!!” I’m chasing my dog down a mountain trail and it sounds like I’m confused if she is actually a dog or a Sriracha Tuna Sandwich.
I’m yelling these words frantically at her as I race down the mountain after this little hooligan and run as fast as my tired hikers legs will carry me down the mountain trail at my dog.
I look like a lunatic.
Who on earth names their dog sandwich?
It’s not that Carly the ding dong (The pug/beagle/ terrier trail dog) is actually named sandwich. The fact is this little idiot gets so excited when she sees another dog on trail she runs up as fast as she can to kiss the other dog on its beautiful mouth.
Even if it’s an angry pit bull.
She will not respond to her name at a time like this but I’ve found that if I yell “sandwich” at the top of my lungs sometimes she listens.
Of course sometimes people stare at me like I am a complete and utter idiot! Before we do a big hike sometimes I make this delicious easy and mayo free Sriracha Tuna Salad. Than I follow my dog down a trail and call her a sandwich at the top of my lungs.
Sriracha Tuna Salad
1 can tuna
1/4 cup Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon sriracha
two teaspoon shredded carrots
1 stalk celery, chopped
Mix the chopped veggies, the Greek yogurt, the sriracha and the tuna.
This is great with crackers, in a sandwich or stuffed in a avocado halve.
Comments
I think Sriracha Tuna Salad is a wonderful name for a dog, ha ha! Okay, maybe better as a sandwich. And if calling your dog “sandwich” gets her to respond then go for it. I might only look at you quizzically for a moment or two.
