Are Snow Play Big Bear Lake Experiences Dog-Friendly?
All of my experiences, including Snow Play, are dog-friendly. Dogs are welcome to be off-leash in this area if you are comfortable with that.
What’s Included in the Snowplay Experience?
Is Sledding Included?
The Snow Play areas we visit have excellent sledding hills. I do ask that guests bring their own sleds, as sleds tend to break easily.
Liability & Safety
All of my snowplay experiences are booked through Airbnb Experiences or TripAdvisor, which means they are covered by Airbnb’s built-in insurance program for both hosts and guests.
Snowplay activities such as sledding, playing in the snow, and being outdoors are considered active, sporty experiences. As with any physical activity (similar to skiing, hiking, or visiting a snow park), there is always some level of inherent risk. This can include slipping, falling, or getting minor bumps or bruises.
Before participating, guests acknowledge a disclosure confirming they understand these risks and that they are choosing to take part at their own discretion and personal responsibility.
My role as your guide is to:
- Select safe and appropriate locations
- Offer guidance and tips for playing safely
- Keep the experience fun, relaxed, and family-friendly
I always encourage guests to go at their own pace and only participate in activities they feel comfortable with. Safety comes first, and the goal is for everyone to enjoy a fun, memorable day in the snow.
I have many parents with young children asking me if their children should wear helmets when sledding. My answer is if it was my child I would tell them to wear a helmet.
Snow Gear & Rental Information
If you need to purchase sleds or snow gear (snow pants, gloves, etc.), I recommend Mulligan’s Used Sporting Goods.
I also have a limited selection of gear available to rent:
Women’s snow boots: size 7.5
Women’s snow pants: Small & Medium
Men’s snow pants: Small
If you’d like to rent gear from me, please let me know in advance so I can reserve it for you.
Meeting Location, Parking & Road Conditions in Big Bear Lake
The location pin on your reservation is a general placeholder and may not be our exact meeting spot. Snow conditions in Big Bear change daily, and I always choose the best local, lesser-known Snow Play area for your group.
I’ll reach out a few days before your experience with the exact meeting pin and detailed directions.
The great part of booking a snow hike with me, a local guide, is that I will show you where to park and not get a ticket. Big Bear Code Enforcement is everywhere in the wintertime. You are not allowed to park on city streets from November to April. You need a local to show you where you can park legally to avoid getting a $500 parking ticket or being towed.
Will you be traveling to Big Bear in an all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive vehicle? If you have any questions about road or weather conditions, feel free to ask. I’m a full-time local and am happy to help.
Photo Opportunities 📸❄️
Snowplay is the perfect chance to capture fun, candid moments with your friends, family, and pets in the snow! I genuinely love taking photos and am always happy to snap as many pictures of your group as you’d like. I’ve been photographing in snowy conditions for years and have lots of creative ideas to help you get beautiful, memorable shots.
I usually take photos using my Google Pixel Pro (it has an amazing camera and does especially well in snowy light). If you’d like, I’m happy to take photos on my phone and send you the high-quality files afterward.
I also work with a fantastic local photographer who sometimes joins my outings. If you’re interested in hiring her for professional photos of your group, feel free to message me for her details. Please note that she must be booked well in advance.
Thanks so much — I look forward to Snow Playing with you!
