This part of the mountain is very drastically different some times.
We are so close to Joshua Tree National Park and when I run in this alpine forest I see everything from Yuccas, to Joshua Trees, to cacti, to wild larkspur and juniper trees.
Today I ran a brand new trail that was laced with cactus and strewn with red, red rocks.
This rocky trail is not the most fun thing to run on.
I could not even imagine mountain biking down this, like Allen the cute Canadian, eh, I met near Wild Horse Camp Ground this A.M.
I’ve had fun with the mountain biking this past week, but I don’t think I will ever be able to do more than a few miles at a time.
Mountain biking is hard, and I suck real bad at the single track.
Something about those narrow trails and I just cant keep my balance.
It is truly amazing I have not fallen off my bike yet.
I’ll stick to trail running in the long run.
