When the Leaves come Falling Down

I woke up this morning with the stiff limbs of some one who ran four miles in the mountains yesterday. Is this what a healthy body is suppose to feel like? The answer, I believe is yes.
A little pain is good for you, right? It means I got a great work out yesterday.
One thing I believe that helps sore muscles, I mean besides guzzling water, Omega 3’s and a heating pad, is getting out there and doing it all over again.

Buddy likes jogging too!

So with that in mind, I grabbed my Ipod, cranked up some Tom Waits, Lili Haydn and Lily Allen, layered on the sports bra, two sweaters, gloves, ear protecting wool head band and hit the road. The icy roads of Deer Lick, my neighborhood, that is.
I think it warmed up to a brisk 40 degrees today. It felt great. This is the weather I love to work out in, whether its hiking or running or snow shoeing. I love the cold breeze on my face and watching falls leaves landing in the fresh snow. Some days I find it really hard to believe I live in Southern California.
Then my skin head neighbor drives by in a beat to shit pickup, reeking of cigarettes and screaming profanity’s at his young children.
Ahh, welcome back to the 909.
And this is why I live in a world of Van Morrison when I’m running. This song, right now, is so perfect and I’m loving it every day.

Keller’s Creek with some snow on it

? Van Morrison, When the Leaves Come Falling Down

I saw you standing with the wind and the rain in your face
And you were thinking ’bout the wisdom of the leaves and their grace
When the leaves come falling down
In September when the leaves, come falling down

And at night the moon is shining on a clear, cloudless sky
And when the evening shadows fall I’ll be there by your side
When the leaves come falling down
In September when the leaves, come falling down

Follow me down, follow me down, follow me down
To the place beside the garden and the wall
Follow me down, follow me down
To the space before the twilight and the dawn

Oh, the last time I saw Paris in the streets, in the rain
And as I walk along the boulevards with you, once again
And the leaves come falling down
In September, when the leaves come falling down

Follow me down, follow me down, follow me down
To the place between the garden and the wall
Follow me down, follow me down
To the space between the twilight and the dawn

And as I’m looking at the colour of the leaves, in your hand
As we’re listening to Chet Baker on the beach, in the sand
When the leaves come falling down,
Woe in September, when the leaves come falling down
Oh when the leaves come falling down
Yeah in September when the leaves come falling down

When the leaves come falling down
In September, when the leaves come falling down

When the leaves come falling down in September, in the rain
When the leaves come falling down

When the leaves come falling down in September, in the rain
When the leaves come falling down

Okay, maybe in the blog it sounds ALITTLE repetitive, but look up the song on Youtube, its really quite nice. And isn’t every one happy that my tastes are revolving away from country these days?

So I got up just after dawn to head out into my foresty neighborhood and do this quick run. I had a realtor stopping by this morning, so I only had half an hour to do my run. We are considering building our real estate investment portfolio by purchasing a turnkey rental property so I had a few questions that I wanted to ask. I have been reading an investing in turnkey real estate guide online so I just wanted to double check with our realtor that we are making good progress. Speaking of which, if you have any real estate investing tips, please feel free to share them as we are still quite new to all of this! We were even lucky to find our current realtor, thanks to websites similar to Rate-My-Agent.com that can show and review realtors in the area you’re looking at buying or selling in. Anyway, believe me, with all the hills, I made that half an hour count!
As I ran down Deep Creek, I heard a screech of brakes, bringing me out of my British Lily Allen coma, and then I watched as a full size Bronco almost slid right into me on a side street. Damn, must be icy out here this morning, I thought, checking my path carefully for ice. I ran up the hill by the little seasonable Deep Creek lake, now just a snow covered little valley with a tiny snow man built where the lake should be. This area of my run was way more shady then I anticipated and there was a lot of ice, pretty much every where.

I didn’t run very far, maybe almost a mile. I wish I had more time today! I’m so excited that I’m actually enjoying this!
I should not have started relaxing.

I should not have stopped running around the house doing chores. I sat down for five minutes to write and now I’m so stiff and sore I can barely move! Time for the extra strength Tylenol to get me through my day! I’m so sore I feel like if I sit down on the toilet I might not be able to get up again!
I always laugh when I used to go to physical therapy; they had a sign on the door in the bathroom that says
If you fall or need help bang on the door loudly
I used to laugh, but now I could see this happening to me.
And sadly, the only one here to help me is my cats.
And they are pissed at me for the miny bathes I gave them with wet wipes earlier.
Lets just hope I don’t get stuck on the toilet.
