Pizza Dough Creations and bbq pizza

In a world of grocery store ready pizza dough, there are so many options for the at home cook besides just plain old pepperoni. My favorite thing to do with store bought pizza dough is to make pizza bread sandwiches. This is my favorite recipe but its also good when you use the dough and for the fillings use

* caramelized onion cheese and roast beef
* roasted vegetables, balsamic vinegar glaze and goat cheese

Club sandwich in a Pizza Bread

1 pizza dough
olive oil
garlic salt
a mix of basil, oregano, parsley
red peppers, marinated
mayo
bacon
turkey
avocado
pepper jack cheese

To make the pizza bread, cut each dough into three pieces. Roll up each piece into a ball, knead a few times and roll again until the ball is smooth. Drizzle balls with olive oil, garlic salt and whatever Italian like herbs you have on hand. Bake for 7 minutes at 375 until the balls begin to brown, then turn, bake an additional 10 minutes until brown. Drain the peppers, chop finely, mix with mayo. Cut the pizza sandwich’s in half, and layer all toppings inside.

Make sure all ingredients are ready to go before you start with the grill. Preheat your grill to a low heat. On a baking sheet or a cutting board roll out the dough. You might want to make a few small pizzas, its way easier to flip the dough that way. With a pastry brush, spread the oil on the dough, be generous, this will help the dough not stick to the grill.
Put the dough on the hot grill, oiled side down. immediately oil the other side. Shut the grill. Wait one minute, open the grill, and if browned enough, turn the dough. If not give it thirty seconds until brown enough. Immediately after flipping, put toppings on the dough, and shut the grill. Watch the dough closely to see when the crust is dark enough.
