My Top Ten Healthy Stocking Stuffers

The holidays means carbs, delicious carbs and not as much healthy eating as we are usually used to. I don’t necessarily have an issue with a few carbs every once in a while but it’s hard to not go overboard during the Christmas season.

This holiday season we will find ourselves overseas spending most of the Christmas break in the Bangalore, India area. I won’t be ignoring cheesy aged gruyere stuffed spinach gratin at my parents house in our snowy mountain home. Instead I will be trying to say no to naan. Well, I’ll be trying to say no to naan somewhat, after all, when you have flown halfway across the world, you have to try all the delicious foods, right?

When I’m not traveling halfway across the world to eat delicious things I try to eat as healthy as possible at home, year round. I try to explain to my mom every Christmas, please don’t buy me crap junk food for my Christmas stocking. I got the idea for this blog from another healthy blogger last week and I thought I would put together a list of what I would LOVE to find in my stocking this Christmas morning. (If we had stockings this year here in Bangalore) You are welcome.

If it has Nestle, Hershey or Nabisco on it, please do not put it in my stocking. I will not eat any of that crap, I will probably just donate it to a homeless person next time I get off the mountain to the city.

If you to enjoy healthy eating than check out my list of the top ten healthy delicious items that I would love to find in my stocking this holiday season. Most of these are available at Whole Foods.

Vermont Brand Honey Mustard Turkey Sticks

Not only are these turkey sticks raised without antibiotics but they are the absolute best brand of turkey jerky I have ever found! Honey Mustard version is the absolute best.

Clif Nut Butter Barshealthy

These new nut butter filled Cliff bars are simply delicious! The Nutella or Coconut Almond Butter are my favorite. I’m a sucker for anything almond butter.

Sahale Snackshealthy

These nut mixes are similar to trail mix. I find them at REI, Whole Foods, sometimes even Stater Brothers. They are all; delicious, but a few of my favorites are the maple pecan with cranberries or the pineapple, peanut, lemongrass and chili. The Pistachio, pepitas and Moroccan harrisa and spicy and spectacular also.

Organic Fairtrade Instant Coffee

These are so great for any friends or family that travel a lot or work in an office!

Trader Joe’s Fruit Bar’s with flax and chia

a great bar to constantly have stashed in your purse if you need a snack at work or while you are driving. Fiber; yea!

Honey Stinger Gel

These are a beyond amazing quick on the trail treat that gives you that extra zing with a boost of ginsing! I love these things!

Honey Stinger Chews

I love these things in grapefruit or pink lemonade. I eat these on the trail and try to tell myself it’s not candy; it’s my trail snack. Now climb that mountain!

Trader Joe’s Seasoned Kale Chips

When I don’t have time to make my own salt and vinager kale chips with organic kale, these are a delicious alternative!

Trader Joe’s Just Beets

Just beets. Dried. Just delicious.

Go Girl

What’s healthier than a happy bladder? This Go Girl makes it so you can pee any where! It’s seriously a awesome little invention and this thing has saved my butt a few times. It makes a great gift too!

    Hi Amber,
I love you ideas for stocking stuffers. I has never heard of the Go Girl idea – but it sure sounds useful and would be a great gift. Thanks for sharing on Real Food Fridays. Pinned & tweeted.
